Abstract | The plurality of present day society is also reflected in schools. They have to take the prevailing heterogeneity into account and help the individual to orient themselves in their respective environments, gain a diversified interactional competence and commit themselves to freedom. At the same time, schools need to promote and practise an attitude of dialogue and tolerance towards others. This change of perspective is incorporated in the term "Inclusion". It denominates a pedagogical approach which originates from the diversity of reality and does not value heterogeneity as a condition that has to be overcome: All humans are different. In this article approaches from the perspective of special needs pedagogy are presented. They conceive the joint living and learning of people where the given diversity is seen as a prerequisite for successful learning. Taking the Second Commandment "Thou shalt not make unto thee an image" as a guiding principle, these pedagogical statements are then reflected on from a pedagogical perspective. |
