| Abstract | Through the New Testament we learn of different forms and ideals of teaching and learning. The Jesus of the gospels teaches in different contexts, different relations and teaches multiple topics. The diversity rendered in the gospels reflects a diversity of teaching and learning in the early communities. The letters of Paul can themselves be read as teaching, and Paul may also have taught his closer followers in more established learning contexts. Paul presents a developed argumentation on the values to be found in the diversity of talents and functions in the communities. The argumentation became important for how believers learned to think and talk about the identity of their community and its members. |
