| Abstract | The authors analyse the development of the principles of educational reform in Lithuania, comment on the reform itself, and examine the effect of market relations on education. They provide an overview of the current social and economic situation in connection with education, and then investigate the reform of education focusing upon aspects of reform more closely related to privatization, such as the development of conceptual design and the legislative basis for educational reform and the restructuring of the educational system. This is followed by an analysis of the relationship of markets and education and the status of private initiatives in the Lithuanian education system. (DIPF/orig.). |
