Abstract | "The contradiction between modernity and tradition as well as the conflict between Western values or Western-style education and the orientation to tradition and the rise of fundamentalist currents in the context of economic and political crisis provides the framework for the discussion of integration and exclusion in the Mahgreb." The article shows tendencies of exclusion and integration in two problem areas: 1) the development of educational and occupational opportunities for girls and women (school attendance, professional life, single women); 2) Health care and school attendance in rural areas.
