Abstract	This report presents the results of a survey on the 'Assessment of the Management Training Needs in Central and Eastern European Countries at the Achieved Level of Transition' carried out in Bulgaria.... Chapter 2 gives an overview of the transition process and the results achieved.... Chapter 3 deals with the main challenges faced by companies and the strategic responses given by management. The main purpose of this chapter is to establish whether the training needs and management development efforts in general are linked to concrete strategic issues and the 'real life' context of the firms in question.... Chapter 4 assesses current management capabilities based on three components of overall capabilities: knowledge and understanding, skills and competencies and values and attitudes, as seen by general and line managers themselves.... Chapter 5 is dedicated to training experiences and the lessons drawn from.... Chapter 6 focuses on the assessment of training needs, starting with the internal perception of training needs, as expressed by the different groups of managers.... Chapter 7 deals with training strategies and actions currently planned and/or envisaged. In Chapter 8 the authors make some recommendations to the different actors who have an interest in meeting training needs in the region. (DIPF/orig.) 3.
