Abstract	The conference documented in this publication was based on the regional study of nine technical education and vocational training (TEVT) systems in the Near East and North Africa.... The conference aim was defined as follows: to work out policy proposals for a better labor market orientation and for further development of the technical education and vocational training systems in the Middle Eastern and North African countries. The conference took place in Heidelberg from July 13 till July 15, 1995 and was attended by decision-makers on TEVT from nine countries. Furthermore, representatives of international aid institutions as well as of German institutions and long- term experts of the GTZ working in the region participated in the conference. The conference comprised plenary discussions, work groups and visits to vocational training schools as well as in-company training facilities. (DIPF/orig.).
