Abstract | Some African countries, especially Kenya, started to reform their national examination system for primary schools. A pilot training workshop in Kenya resulted in the papers collected in the 2 volumes of "Improving test design". The manual "tries to assist those educationists who are responsible for the design, conduct and control of national examinations in developing higher quality assessment instruments which can provide better information on pupil achievement, a fairer basis for selection, and influence learning and teaching to improve educational quality". The second volume gives "an account and analysis of the present situation regarding primary school leaving examinations of countries in the region. Detailed information for each country is provided in a tabulated overview illustrated by original examination papers in Science, Agriculture and Environmental Science". (DIPF/Bi.). |
