Abstract | Applied Affect Control Theory (ACT) to investigate the interaction process between leisure participants and their environment. Surveys of people on an urban, multiple-use trail indicated that most exhibited a dynamic emotional experience even though they were in the setting a short time. Respondents exhibited different emotions across events. Results suggest that ACT has the potential to help explain how an interaction process in recreation creates a dynamic experience. (SM) |
