Abstract | Interviewed 155 adolescents and young adults adopted internationally in Canada regarding racial/ethnic identity. Analyzed findings in relation to adoptees' rights through U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption, and Canadian Multiculturalism Act. Found that self-described ethnic identity made no difference to adoptees' comfort with identity. (KB) |
