Abstract | Examined parents' (n=207) intentions associated with critical incidents (n=1,722) they undertake in career development of their children. Approximately half of incidents contributed to construction of 10 categories representing intentions of parents. Categories illustrate that parents, although not necessarily attempting to influence particular occupational choice, are active agents in influencing their children in career development.
