Abstract | Study of 241 postsecondary vocational education teachers who stayed in teaching and 43 who left found that both groups had similar needs upon entry into teaching, but that teachers who stayed had significantly more need for job security. Extrinsic needs became more important, and there was a reduced need to share knowledge with students as length of tenure increased. (JOW) |
