Abstract | Recent years have seen accelerating interest in measuring the employment outcomes of recent college graduates. New data tools and research, such as the College Scorecard, increasingly sophisticated state-level data systems, and studies investigating students' long-term economic mobility, continue to roll out. While postgraduate wages have been an understandable primary focus, examining where graduates find employment has received far less attention to date. Yet states are increasingly interested in better understanding the flows of college graduates into and out of their labor markets. There is enormous variability in the workforce location of graduates by institution, sector, state, degree level, These data may help policy makers and institutional leaders examine how effectively institutions and programs are meeting the workforce needs of their state.
