Abstract | This article shares the story of the author's involvement in a national literacy initiative known as the African American Read-In (AARI) in Springfield, Missouri. The article highlights successes that public school librarians and university librarians are experiencing as they work together to promote diversity and reading through a community-wide effort. Their collaborative efforts may inspire other educators to learn more about the AARI and to become involved. (ERIC). |
