AbstractThis pamphlet, written in Spanish, is designed to help Spanish-speaking parents recognize and encourage their gifted preschool children. It begins by discussing some of the interests of very young children and lists strategies for facilitating and supporting those interests, including: provide the child with opportunities to find out about a variety of topics; be a role model for acquiring interests by reading about many topics and discussing these ideas with the child; show the child that there are a variety of sources of information about any particular topic; and help young children to enjoy learning about a topic. The second section of the brochure urges parents to provide a wide range of games and activities to help their children be more balanced in their thinking as they prepare to encounter more abstract material in their primary years of school. The last section provides examples of how parents can tell that their young child has a talent. It also lists examples of activities the preschool child could experience to practice skills in several talent areas and strategies for facilitating and supporting the young childs talents. (CR)
