Abstract | Undergraduate and graduate admissions requirements for foreign students at more than 2,000 U.S. colleges and universities are detailed in this handbook. Based on responses to questionnaires sent to all U.S. higher education institutions, the content emphasizes minimum scores required on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, possible alternative qualifications, required grade point averages, and the existence of an intensive English program. The arrangement is by state and then alphabetically by institution, with an index by institution name. Standard information includes school location; type (private, public, undergraduate, graduate), foreign student enrollment, application deadlines, and telephone numbers for contacts. This guide is designed to supplement other sources of information on U.S. institutions. The requirements listed in the book are minimum requirements. The guide is designed to help students make better, informed decisions about schools where they might most successfully be considered for admission. (SW) |
