| Abstract | Results of a survey of salaries of full-time administrators at public, doctoral-granting institutions for 1984-1985 are presented. A ranking of salaries paid among 151 state-supported universities representing 47 states and 33 university systems representing 27 states is given. Salary data are also arranged into the nine regions defined by the Equal Opportunity Commission. A separate table indicates salaries paid to officers of university systems, which have a separate administrative structure for multiple general academic institutions, at least one of which has doctoral offerings. Information is included on whether a salary is paid for a position with a dual function. To provide anonymity, the universities are not identified with their salaries, but are listed separately. Four positions have been added to the 1984-1985 report: Dean of Dentistry, Dean of Health Professions, Dean of Public Affairs, and the combined position of Graduate Dean and Vice President of Research Services.
