Abstract | This unit of instruction on home management of lighting was designed for use by home economics teachers in Florida high schools and by home economics extension agents as they work with their clientele. It is one of a series of 11 instructional units (see note) written to help teachers and agents to educate their students and clients about the problems of energy shortages and strategies for energy conservation and management. Topics covered in this unit include the differences between incandescent and fluorescent lighting, methods of conserving energy used for lighting, efficient use of different types of light bulbs for various tasks, and amount of lumens per square foot required for various tasks. The unit contains student performance objectives, content information, teaching-learning activities, student handouts, transparency masters, and evaluation instruments. (KC) |
