| Abstract | Guidelines are offered to increase communication between regular and special educators. Suggestions are listed for the following topics (whose first letters spell "communicate')" credibility, organization, motivator, model, understanding, nurture, include, cooperate, attitude, together, and enthusiasm. Approximately half of the document is made up of appended materials, including concrete ideas for teachers regarding public relations, 65 phrases for verbal praise, fables for motivation, a glossary of educational terms and definitions, and a list of children's books teaching nonhandicapped children about their handicapped peers.
