| Abstract | Approximately 500 citations are provided to help teachers and media personnel identify materials for teaching about Minnesota in elementary and secondary grades. Entries are presented in ten categories: people of Minnesota; history; government and law; industries and commerce; land, plants, and water; wildlife; recreation; arts; fiction; and miscellaneous. Within each category entries are further divided according to format. Formats include books, maps, calendars, films, filmstrips, audio tapes, resource lists, and field trips. Almost all the entries provide very brief annotations, but the compilers urge teachers to preview the materials before purchasing any. For each entry, information is given on author or developer, title, publisher or distributor, date, purchase or rental price, length, and grade level. The bibliography also includes names of Minnesota county and special purpose historical societies, regional historic centers, distributor/producer/publisher addresses, and an index of all entries by format.
