| Abstract | Designed to prepare students (grades 11 and 12) for employment entry through a cooperative work/study program, this course guide assists the teacher-coordinator by providing instructional objectives, suggested performance tasks, sample assessment measures, and activities for each unit of instruction. The instruction covers two broad areas: Employment education and consumer education. Including an orientation to the cooperative work experience program, the employment education segment contains units of study in career education, job applications, work relations, training plans, and safety. The consumer education studies include units in budgeting, banking, taxes, investments, consumer responsibilities and practices, credit and installment buying, insurance, and housing. Annotated bibliographies and references for each unit are also contained in this guide along with a reference chart to specified textbooks. (BM) |
