Abstract	This document is the second of two volumes of papers dealing with various aspects of Marxist literary influence, and more specifically socialist realism, in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Included in this volume are articles that deal with such subjects as socialist realism and the progressive movement in Malayalam, realism in Marathi creative literature, Marxist orientation in the poetry of Vinda Karandikar and Narayan Surve, Pragativad in Panjabi literature, a Marxist approach to Sanskrit literature, the influence of Marxism on the poetry of Sri Sri, aspects of the poetic theory and practice of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and the social role of theatre in India. Also included in this volume are discussions of socialist realism and Indian literature, and purposive literature and literary craftmanship. (TS)
