Abstract	North Carolina has established programs and projects designed to meet the special educational needs of the children of migratory workers and has coordinated them with similar agencies. The State migrant program's priorities are regular school term and summer projects for interstate and intrastate migrants; staff development activities; a migrant student record transfer system; migrant education regional services; mobile vocational instructional program; and services for students eligible under the former migratory provision (5-year migrants). During 1973-74, 6812 migrant children were served. Supplemental instruction and reinforcement were provided by 50 projects administered indirectly through 29 local educational agencies. Only limited supportive services were provided during the regular school term since emphasis was on instruction to supplement existing programs and not to supplant any available services with migrant funds. More value was placed on the supportive services during the summer since these projects were generally the only activities in operation. More responsibility for evaluating local projects was shifted to the local directors. After reading and processing all available information from project evaluations, on-site visits, test data, and monitoring reports, this 1974 evaluation report was prepared. All available information indicates that the North Carolina Migrant Education Program is meeting the State program goals. (NQ)
