Abstract	This paper reports the results of a normative study of associations in the context of a simple declarative sentence in a manner that makes possible the estimation of sequential word-to-word dependencies within sentences. The subjects were 60 male and 60 female undergraduate students from educational psychology classes. However, data for males and females were combined after it was noted that there was a high degree of similarity in their responses. Results given in this report are their reponses to 71 animate nouns, each presented in a sentence frame containing two articles and blank spaces for a verb and another noun. The subjects had to complete the sentences. Extensive frequency tables are given, indicating the object nouns most frequently associated with each verb.
