Abstract | Solidarität ist in Bewegung geraten. (DIPF/Orig.) Solidarity is on the move. At the latest since the long summer of migration, we have seen how creative ideas for living together in solidarity in a global society are emerging in regional and transnational alliances - while at the same time a policy of isolation towards refugees is manifesting itself. This volume takes this tension as a starting point to explore new fields of solidarity-based action such as sea rescue, climate activism and solidarity-based theatre forms for social work. Against this current backdrop, the contributions fundamentally question the unifying potential of solidarity beyond dichotomous thinking in terms of 'us' and 'them'. The authors assume that people, living beings, nature and the economy are interconnected all over the world. In the form of essays, the volume provides a comprehensive insight into selected writing laboratories and practices of scientists, civil society actors and artists. Step by step, the authors set in motion a discourse on a cosmopolitan, sustainable and convivial understanding of solidarity for social fields of action and social work. |
