Abstract	This paper is meant to be the basis for an on-going discussion on the link between language and culture in the EFL classroom. Certain assumptions have been made: a) The culturally homogeneous workplace is located, for the purposes of this paper, in any Western European country which has a socio-economic status similar to Denmark. b) The status of English in these countries is that of English as an additional foreign language. c) The aim of teaching EFL in the culturally homogeneous workplace is to help the employees communicate in business transactions of one form or another with speakers from another country who have another primary language. d) The EFL trainer has built up a comfortable relationship with the participants, and the participants are also comfortable with one another.
