Abstract	The book presents a report of the International Meeting on Educational Finance in Central Asia and Mongolia which was organized by the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), and took place in September 1995 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. (...) "It was designed to provide a forum for practical discussions on the issues of educational finance ..., and the role of public (state) bodies, in particular Ministries of Education, in financial management within the decentralized, overall context." The book contains the following parts: (1) Proceedings of the meeting; (2) Conclusions and observations; (3) Summary of the national reports of the Central Asian countries; (4) The financing of education systems: IIEP discussion paper by Serge Péano; (5) Challenge of realities: an overview of trends and developments in educational finance in Central Asia and Mongolia by Igor Kitaev.
