Abstract | One of the areas in teacher education that has had little attention in the literature, is the role of the affective domain in the development of teachers.... Rarely if at all do teacher education programs take up the ... task of working with the development of the developig teachers emotions as they become a professional. This paper will explore the application of a comprehensive confluent model of education to the development of teachers, describing how various activities and programmatic structures can support the new teacher's evelopment, particularly the affective dimension of their experience. The descriptions presented are taken from the teacher education program in the Graduate School of Education, University of California. (Confluent Education is the deliberate self study of cognitive and affective response to experience) (DIPF/orig.). |
