Abstract	This chapter focusses on data collection by means of think-aloud procedure. Making use of the theoretical framework of information-processing, it distinguishes think-aloud from other types of introspection and defines them. In order to give impulses for planning and conducting empirical think-aloud studies, the main part looks at decisions involved in preparing for and actually collecting data. In the subsequent discussion of the transcription process, [the] special focus is on nonverbal elements. Because think-alouds can be submitted to many different kinds of analysis, the last part of this chapter highlights general aspects of data analysis resulting from the characteristic nature of think-aloud data.
